How to Take Care of a New Puppy

Puppies don’t come home potty trained. If you are going to have your dog in the house it is important to start training it to go to the bathroom outside. This is a huge responsibility and will require a lot of time and attention.

Just like we need baths, dogs need baths sometimes too. While they don’t need a bath as often as people do, it’s your job as the owner to keep your puppy clean. It’s probably a good idea to use the kitchen sink if you have a very small puppy.

Your next big responsibility is to make sure your puppy is fed everyday. It’s important that you don’t overfeed your puppy, because this can make it sick. There are special puppy food for young puppies. You can talk to your veterinarian about the best food choice for you puppy.
