Once 5 was very sad. It didn’t know whether it belonged to 0 or 10. 5 cried all day long in its house. When the rounding of the year came, it just didn’t want to go, even though all of the numbers would greet him. 5 just messed up everything. It was in the middle of 0 and 10 so it just stood there. It stood there until the time ended. All of the visitors would whine and groan like usual. What use was 5? Then 5 heard a knock on the door.

Multiplication and division came into 5’s house. They tried everything to cheer 5 up. Multiplication even volunteered to turn 5 into 20. 5 just kept crying and ignoring them. They were making lunch for 5. It was going to be a nice lunch because there was his favorite shrimp with cheese sprinkled all over it. There was also chicken and salad. The food was almost done when Pentagon came in to see what was going on with 5. 5 was Pentagon’s buddy.

When Pentagon came in, 5 stopped crying and smiled at pentagon. Then they all had lunch together. Everyone loved it and division made a chocolate cake to have for dessert. 5 let all of them stay so that they could have a yummy dinner together. 5 even asked multiplication and division to be its chefs. Multiplication and division agreed that they would stay in the extra bedroom that was upstairs. That bedroom upstairs had wooden carvings and hand-sewn rugs. It costed a lot of money but 5 could afford it because it was paid 6,000 dollars everyday for being used so much in math. Multiplication and division also had a lot of money. They were used a lot with 5. They had mansions in Operation Station. Then the doorbell started ringing again.

5 let the shape come in. It was Decagon, here to tell the news of what happen of the fight between 0 and 10. Decagon said that 10 had won. 5 actually liked 10 more so 5 was happy. 5 also told multiplication and division to come if they want because the two operations were really good cook. They both shouted “We would love to!” Then they walked outside to greet 10. 10 was jumping up and down while holding a 10 pound weight. Pentagon and Decagon were laughing along with the two operations and 5. 10 started talking to 5. 10 said “You are going to live in a mansion from now on in my little city. There are a lot of wooden carvings and expensive furniture in it. You will not have to pay any taxes. You may hire anyone you would like.” They started following 10 down a pathway.

10 followed the pathway onto a big mountain. The mountain was made like steps. Anything could easily climb up and down the mountain without a harness. The path curved around the mountain. Multiplication and division could see different forms of wildlife out in the mist. Then they went into a forest that had many ponds. 10 told them to take a break by one of the ponds and catch some fish to eat. After a few minutes they continued out of the forest. Finally they could see a town in the distance. When they got there 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 14 greeted them.

After every number in 10’s city greeted 5, 10 brought 5 to its house. The house was very big and had a lot of paintings in it. There were two sides of the house, one of sleeping and the other for making food. In the middle of those two sides was an indoor water park, a swimming pool, and a playground. There were wooden carvings and glass windows. 5 first went to see the kitchen and then the bedrooms. 5 asked multiplication and division to go into the rooms near the swimming pool. 5 was going to sleep in the big bedroom upstairs where there was this 1,000,000 dollar bed. Then 10 told 5 that it always rounded up to 10.
