A- Addition
adding 2 number to make 1 bigger number
55+55=110
B- Bar graph
Bar graph is to collect data in color.
C -Cube
Cube is square in 3D.
D- Denominator
The whole of a fraction.
8/9 the nine is the denominator.
E- Estimate
Estimate means to guess.
I estimate that there is 120 gum ball in there.
F-Fraction
a numerical quantity that is not a whole number
7/8 5/9
G- Geometry
it is when you learn the angels and degrees of a shape
like the degree of this triangle is 109
H- Half
when something is split in half
like I split a 0 in half.
I- Inch
it is on the opposite side of cm on the ruler.
if I measure a paper clip it might be 1 inch.
J- Jump Discontinuity
A discontinuity for which the graph steps or jumps from one connected piece of the graph to another. Formally, it is a discontinuity for which the limits from left and right and right both exist but are not equal to each other.
K- Kilogram
Is a measurement for heavier stuff
if I measure a lion it might be 130 kg.
L- Line plot.
collects measurement data on a ruler.
M- Mass
a coherent, typically large body of matter with no definite shape.
N- Numerator
the number above the line in a common fraction showing how many of the parts indicated by the denominator are taken.
for example, 2 in 2/3.
O- Odd Number
a number that is not equal.
1 3 5 7 9 is a odd number.
P- Product
the answer for a multiplication problem.
7*3=21. 21 is the product
Q- Quadrilateral
a shape with 4 side
R- Right Pyramid
A pyramid that has its apex aligned directly above the center of the base.
S- Sum
the answer for a addition problem.
5+1=6. 6 is the sum
T- Translation
A transformation in which a graph or geometric figure is picked up and moved to another location without any change in size or orientation.
U – Unit fraction
A unit fraction is a rational number written as a fraction where the numerator is one and the denominator is a positive integer.
Examples are 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 ,1/5, etc.
V- Vertices
the pointy part of a shape
W- Weight
“Heaviness”. The downward force caused by gravity on an object
This bar of gold has a mass of 1kg.
X- X-Intercept
A point at which a graph intersects the x-axis. The x-intercepts of a function must be real numbers, unlike roots and zeros.
Y- Y-Intercept
A point at which a graph intersects the y-axis.
Z- Zero
The number which indicates no quantity, size, or magnitude. Zero is neither negative nor positive. Note: Zero is the additive identity.
I have 0 candy you have no candy at all.
