THE MODERN LITTLE MERMAID

Once upon a time, in the deep blue lagoon sea of the Caribbean’s, was living a young and beautiful mermaid with red hair and pale shining skin. She was always taking care of the seaweed, the corals and all the fish. She was the whales and sharks’ best friend.

One day, as she was swimming to help her friend the sunfish, a big oil tanker which was travelling for Africa went above the little mermaid’s house.

But a huge rock was just in front of the boat. The captain was sleeping and he didn’t saw it. The ship broke into two parts. Because of the shipwreck, the oil contained inside it spread itself into the water. It was growing on and on and the little mermaid didn’t know what to do. She searched her friends to inform them but got stuck into a plastic bag. She tried to resist and pull it off but it was too tight for it.

The oil was getting closer and closer… She panicked when the gas started to enter in her scales, sticking her skin and got stuck in her hair. Her beautiful red hair started getting black and sticky. She fell down in the ocean’s abyss and saw all of her friends suffocating and dying in front of her eyes. She was totally devastated. Polochon, the cutest fish in the world, died.

Finally, the oil got into her throat and her lumbs. She couldn’t breathe anymore. She died slowly and finished laying on the white beach.

Epilogue :

The corpse grounded on the sand of the nearest island was moving on the whim of  the waves when the boat’s castaways discovered it. They decided to cook it and eat it because they didn’t have food to survive.
