When I was in the first grade I had one little wish, I wanted a pet. So every morning before I went to school I asked my mom and dad: “can I get a pet?”

And they always gave me the same answer: “ We will thing about it”

Until one day, when I reached home after school I suddenly saw a big surprise on the dinning table. I had two little beautiful parrots. One of them was blue like the deep wide blue ocean so I named him “Colombus”. The other parrot was wild and had the color of white and orange, sow I named her after my favorite childhood character “Bilby”.

I was very happy to get my new parrots, and I played with them every day. I gave them food, water and sometimes I even gave them fruits.

Until one day, when I reached home from school, my mother told me : “I’m sorry honey, but the parrots are gone.”

So I asked here : “ I don’t understand, didn’t they like the fruits that I gave them?”

And my mother said : “ they do honey“ and then she said : “we’ve been looking for them all day and we didn’t find them, I’m so sorry”

And then tears came to my eyes and I said : “ We have to keep looking! We should try to search for them in the grove . “

There was a beautiful grove next to our old building.

We went to the grove for one last search, and then we saw Colombus and Bilby lie on the ground surrounded by three hungry cats.

My mother and I scarred them away . But it was too late, the birds were wounded. We took them home and we took care of them.

In every day the parrots medical condition got better.  And after two month their wings got better and they could move them.

I was very happy, but the birds seems sad. They didn’t sing like they used to and they didn’t touch the food.

I was wondering: ‘if the parrots are safe and sound , and they got food and water in the cage, then why aren’t they happy?’

And then one day when I went home, my parents told me that the parrots escaped from the cage.

They flue back to the nature from the window.

” I can’t believe they flew away mom” I said “the world is so dangerous.”

“The world is dangerous, it’s true, but sometimes you better fly then never try” my mother said.

At that moment I realized that birds meant to be free.
