Sleeping Ugly

Once upon a time, in a big castle, was born a princess, in the name of Aurore. She was the first child of the Queen and she was the most beautiful baby ever. One year later, a party had been organised to celebrate her birthday. Three fairies were at the ceremony, a green one, a blue one, and a red one. They had to cast a spell on Aurore, but the blue fairy cast the wrong spell ! So Aurore was ugly and sick instead of being pretty and intelligent.

“OOOHHHH NO !” screamed the public.

“What happened ?” said the Queen, terrified.

“Queen, I am extremely sorry…”  explained the fairy. “Please forgive me…”

When the queen saw her daughter, she started to cry.

“I want everyone to go out ! Now ! Do not ask me anything and do not come back in the castle ! Never !”

The queen was very sad and angry, even the King could not comfort her.

Several years later, Aurore had grown and it was very difficult for her, because of the bullying that she had to bear each day. People of her school used to call her Horror instead of Aurore.

During a beautiful day of summer, in the afternoon, Aurore went home to take her medicine, because since the spell, she had been very sick and the sickness had never been cured. She took the medicine but it was not the right one, it was a sleeping pill ! She fell asleep and on the box it was written “WARNING : If you take this pill, the only way to wake you up is to receive a true love kiss”.

The problem was that Aurore was extremely ugly, sick and dumb, so no one loved her. Even her mother was not proud of her, and tried several times to cast spells on her, to cure the curse.

100 years later, Aurore was still sleeping. She was very old, the queen and the king had died because of the old age, and everybody had forgotten her. Sometimes, young men came to see her and tried to kiss her, but it was impossible. She was too ugly, old and she smelt extremely bad. So they threw up before running away,letting the princess alone. Unfortunately, Sleeping Ugly stayed asleep ever after.
