Geography:
The Netherlands is the main constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is a densely populated country located in Western Europe with three island territories in the Caribbean. The European part of the Netherlands borders Germany to the east, Belgium to the south, and the North Sea to the northwest, sharing maritime borders with Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Germany.The largest cities in the Netherlands are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. Amsterdam is the country’s capital, while The Hague holds the Dutch seat of government and parliament. The name Holland is used to refer informally to the whole of the country of the Netherlands.

APELDOORN
Is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland in the centre of the Netherlands. It is a regional centre. The municipality of Apeldoorn, including villages like Beekbergen, Loenen and Hoenderloo. The western half of the municipality lies on the Veluwe ridge, the eastern half lies in the IJssel valley. John Berends of the CDA is the mayor of Apeldoorn.

HISTORY
The oldest known reference to Apeldoorn, then called Appoldro.
Apeldoorn was a relatively insignificant place until the major building projects of the 19th century and those of the period following World War II. The Protestant church was restored after a fire in 1890. The Roman Catholic Mariakerk is a national monument.
With over 95,000 people working in the municipality, Apeldoorn is one of the most important employment centres in the eastern Netherlands.
Apeldoorn also has several important educational institutes, such as the Saxion University of Applied Sciences (hotel and facility management), the Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands Police Academy and the Theological University of Apeldoorn.
House of Orange-Nassau
Paleis Het Loo reflects the historical ties between the House of Orange-Nassau and the Netherlands. The central part of the palace and the lateral pavilions show how the palace was inhabited by the House of Orange for three centuries starting with the King Stadtholder William III of England up to and including Queen Wilhelmina.

APENHEUL
Apenheul is a zoo which hosts a number of different types of apes and monkeys, some of which are free to walk around the visitors.
It is situated at the western edge of Apeldoorn and can easily be reached by local bus 2, 3 and 5 .
In this park there’s also a climbing part that’s very interesting to do.
You can have a lot fun with the zip line from the highest tree of the park!
Koningin Juliana Toren
There is also an amusement park situated in Apeldoorn, called the Koningin Juliana Toren (Queen Juliana Tower). It is situated nearby the Apenheul and lies on the road to Hoog Soeren. It is called the Koningin Juliana Toren because of the tower, which was built in 1910 and was later named after Queen Juliana.
KSG school
The KSG is a public school for secondary school.
This school was founded by King William III in 1877.
That building is at the Jhr. Mr. Molleruslaan at number 42 in the district’s parks.
The building was expanded over the years, grown and adapted to the needs of a school in the 21st century.
Kröller-Müller Museum
The Kröller-Müller Museum is a national art museum and sculpture garden,
located in the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo in the Netherlands.
The museum was founded by art collector Helene Kröller-Müller and opened in 1938.
It has the second-largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, after the Van Gogh Museum.
The museum had 380,000 visitors in 2015.
To reach the museum we had to ride the bike through a forest.
It was very tiring but very fun too!

It’s a Dutch football club from the city of Apeldoorn, established in 1913.

which means Apeldoorn football club for teetotallers.

DRINKS
The main nightlife in Apeldoorn is focussed in the Caterplein square. Many bars and restaurants, as well as the new (2012) cinema complex, can be found here. A slightly quieter area can be found a few blocks away at the Leienplein. Also en route between the two squares are plenty of places to eat and drink.
