As I Grow Older
It was a long time ago.
I have almost forgotten my dream.
But it was there then,
In front of me,
Bright like a sun—
My dream.
And then the wall rose,
Rose slowly,
Slowly,
Between me and my dream.
Rose until it touched the sky—
The wall.
Shadow.
I am black.
I lie down in the shadow.
No longer the light of my dream before me,
Above me.
Only the thick wall.
Only the shadow.
My hands!
My dark hands!
Break through the wall!
Find my dream!
Help me to shatter this darkness,
To smash this night,
To break this shadow
Into a thousand lights of sun,
Into a thousand whirling dreams
Of sun!
A Letter To Lungston
31 of January 2017
Dear Hughes
“The only way to get the thing done ,is to start to do it , then keep on doing it,.
and finally you will finish it”…….
By langston Hughes.
From langston’s peom I understand what is the real dream , and how important it is to achieve it.
I learned that I have to fight all the obstacles , that are in my way to achieve my dream and i dont have
to give up such as you .
This peom is the greatest peom I have ever read in my life , it has changed and turned everything
inside me.
The faith become strong to achieve my dream ,. thanks to langston :).
Langston did somthing very important that caught my attention, he reaches up his hands and
take the star although there are diffculties not anyone can do it and overcome
the obstacles .
When I started reading the peom , I was thinking that langston will give up on his dream, but I
was supprised that he could reach his dream .
This shows the power of faith , courage and confidnce .
Hughes has a special personality that everyone hopes to have it.
I’m one of them ,so I will try to be like him and reach my dream.
«My Dream»
That beuatiful dream ,since chilhood and that dream shined my days with joy.
my present and even my future were waiting so bad to live with my dream just
to be somthing valuable to bless evreybody.
I will become a big and successful lawyer.
I want to be the women who helps all in need and defends all the opressed , also
I imagine myself in an office that carries my name and my father’s name .
Moreover, the people come to me , to help them and then , the come to thank
me .
I will make the opressed smile , I want to be special but on my way…..
But all what I mentioned now will not come true if I dont work and work hard.
So what I want to say is that my dream will come true because I will make the impossible possible.
Eventually I will inforce this saying :
“Champions keep playing until they get it right.” — Billie Jean King
Thank You
