Plate Boundaries

Plate boundaries are very interesting, now let’s learn!

One of the plate boundaries are a divergent boundary. Divergent Boundaries are linear feature that exists between two tectonic plates that are moving away from each other.

Another is a convergent boundary. Convergent boundaries are actively deforming region where two or more tectonic plates or fragment have been moved toward each other.

The last plate boundary is a transform fault. Transform faults are faults that are in motion horizontally.

Some real life boundaries of a convergent boundary are the Andes Mountain. A real life boundary of a divergent boundary is the Great Rift Valley. Finally, for a transform fault is San Andreas. The plate boundary that creates earthquakes are divergent boundaries and that boundary that make the biggest earthquakes are convergent boundaries. These boundaries both also cause volcanoes. The transform fault also does something, it creates the ocean floor but also get destroyed by divergent boundaries. The plate tectonic that causes mid-ocean ridges are divergent boundaries. Finally, the boundary that creates deep-ocean trenches is the convergent boundary.
