Iš Kėdainių, Šėtos ir Žeimių
In 1948, survivors in refugee camps in Germany published a Yiddish journal called “Fun Letstn Khurbn” (“From the Recent Holocaust”), and in December of that year it included an article about Keidan, written by David Wolpe. Here is a photo page from that journal, showing on the left, the mass grave as it looked just after the war; and on the right, four women who were killed there.
“Lithuania: A Keidan family of four generations. who perished in the action of Aug. 28, 1941. Standing on the left: Meryl Paker. Next to her, her mother Esther Paker. Seated on right, her grandmother, Sime Dameretsky; next to her, great-grandmother Freide Rabinowitz. Provided by Leizer Wolpe (great-grandson of Freide Rabinowitz), Davos.”
