One adventurous day, a boy named Efren who was going to the zoo with his parents. He wanted to practice skip counting because he didn’t understand it. Every single test he had he would always take a long time counting up. When his teacher asked for someone to answer her question on skip counting, he always would count the wrong way. He didn’t have time to get F’s and C’s as grades. So, He wanted to step his game up.

When they got to the Zoo, Efren’s mom began to take him to the animals. They soon saw animals that were in pairs. They were amazed that the Zoo didn’t stink that munch. From their knowledge, wherever they go, it stinks and has an odor. Especially Zoos, Circuses, and many more places!

”Mom, Look at he Gorillas!” exclaimed Efren. His mom turned her head over to the Gorillas.

”I see!” she said as she nodded. She pretended that she was excited so she wouldn’t ruin HIS excitement. They stared some more at the animals.

Efren wondered when his mom was going to teach him how to skip count. He didn’t want it to seem like he was rushing her. He waited a little more to ask his mom. He wanted to wait for a good time to do that.

”Mom, when am I going to start learning how to skip count?” he asked. She then realized and started to teach him. Efren would have some difficulties with it. He would count the normal way or he would skip count but miss a number. Sometimes, he would even count backwards but overall, he still tried his best!

To help him out, she began to explain to him how the animals are in equal groups. He started to get the hang of it. Once his lesson was finished, he showed his mother what he learned. For example: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20.

”Excellent Job, Sweety!” congratulated his mother. He finally learned how to skip count.
