We are Ukrainian children

and winter in our native

country is fantastic.

The weather is frosty and

snowy in Ukraine.

It is cold here in winter!

Ukrainian children like

winter.

We can sledge , ski and

skate.

Also we like snow.

We play snowballs and

make a snowman.

It’s fun!

There are some holidays in winter.

Ukrainians celebrate them and have their national traditions and customs.

On Christmas people have a Vertep Show and sing koliadkas.

Didukh is a Ukrainian

Christmas decoration , a

symbol of harvest , well-

being and wealth.

New Year is a happy holiday for each family .

Usually we decorate our houses.

Children like Christmas trees because they look for their presents under trees.

Ukrainian boys and girls

celebrate St.Nicholas Day

and believe that St Nicholas

puts presents and sweets

under the pillows.

Also we like fireworks but

now we can’t do it because

the war.

But we hope that the war

will end soon  and we will

live as before.
