Introduction or every journey begins with a small step:
We believe that Reading For Pleasure is not just
aproject, but a long term process. At first, we created
an English library, purchased many new books and
invited our students to read for their own pleasure. Our
main objective was that our students enjoy reading,
discover new worlds and enrich their language. We
wanted our pupils to think out of the box. In our library
we have many task after reading so they can reflect
their reading. We can encourage them. To create an
interesting discussion around the book and make
supportive environment.

We invited our students to create many different projects such as:
Alternative covers, advertisements, letters to a friend/ autor/ one of the characters and games such as:
-
Vocabulary games
-
Memory games
-
Crosswords
-
Word jumbles
book recommendations, posters or just regular projects.
Both weak and strong pupils read books and enjoyed the process.

And more enjoyable projects
It a challenge to get the pupils read and on the way to
enjoy it. Everything that is related to reading has to be
fun.We have to motivate them to read all the time. We
have the influence to do that. We must help children
develop a love for reading.Children who are introduced
to book early are more prone to develop their language
skills.
22
And more…
The more pupils read the more children gain in language
ability and reading comprehension. The more children
learns and feel save with English.

extreme reading
In order to Promote the Summer Reading Challenge at the summer term we’ll ask my pupils about the next project called “extreme reading”. Just drop everything and read. Set up a photographic competition for the most obscure and entertaining place that the pupils can be caught reading.
we’ll copy the sentence I found – A Readathon (מרתון) is a great way to encourage pupils to read for enjoyment and to
create a buzz around reading in school. Pupils will read as much as they can. picture themselves reading. we’ll tell them to put the pictures in the ppt document and present it to class when they come back to school. maybe even give a book as a gift to the best reader.
