Our H-Bomb

Hamas. Their leader in Qatar is Haniyeh.

Their Heaven is our Hell.

October 7 is our Holocaust; our horror.

(H)Iran’s other proxies, Hezbollah and the Houthis are threatening us.

We are facing another Hitler, and much of the World waves flags.

Anti-Semitism or whatever, this is pure hate.

3

Yocheved Lifschitz and Nurit Cooper were released today. Their husbands, aged 85 and 83, are still kidnapped. (I was told that ‘captured’ is not strong enough. I am staying calm, but what I want to do to those ‘kidnappers’ is unspeakable). I am 78, and feel broken. They are much older….

4

Khaled Mashal, Hamas leader, was ‘interviewed on Sky (poor Dominic Waghorn did not get a word in). Among the gunge coming out of that monster’s mouth was the news that 20 more of the hostages are dead – of course killed by the Israeli bombing.

If those monsters have a plan, it is to wiggle out their freedom by a humanitarian ceasefire and freeing (what’s left of) the hostages. Yes, I must ask: what would YOU do???

5

UN Gen. Sec. Guterres yesterday X’d –

“Among them, 35 of our @UNRWA colleagues—humanitarians, teachers—have been killed in Gaza since 7 October”.

OK, that’s his job, perhaps. His responsibility. But, UNRWA continues to be a thorn in the side of logic and truth. The ‘rest of the World’s refugees’ have every right to be screaming. For the hundredth time, I remind you that UNRWA employs 30,000, nearly all of them Palestinian.

6

This is a self-perpetuating disaster, and twisted politics to say the least. The following link is to the 77-page UNRWA employment booklet –

https://www.unrwa.org/sites/default/files/area_staff_rules_23feb2017.pdf

We are told that there is almost 50% unemployment in Gaza. Are we supposed to thank UN for preventing that figure from going over 50%?

7

I have trouble watching another video of a report, a discussion, interview, debate on this subject, directly or indirectly. I have always loved debate and discussion, even up to (or down to) such elite forums as the Oxford Union. But when the subject is Israel..I get lost. Back to ‘your truth and my truth’. Where did we all go so wrong? (And if any of you now think ‘what makes you think you’re right, Stephen?’ then I am on the way to losing the argument). I cannot only base my thoughts on facts.

8

It’s also a matter of education, upbringing, decency, circumstances, history, fate and even luck.

I am sometimes vilified for perhaps over-using the phrase ‘take a step back’. Or retreating to the defensive ’80/20 rule’ – nothing is perfect. That’s where we have to be: always in the compromise mode.

9

Let’s take ‘Israel;’ as a subject, just for a few seconds. On second thoughts, let’s not. I’ve been down that road so many times. I’ve done it blindfolded. But I never ‘win’. (What’s the 80/20 version of ‘win’?)

I’m considering another track. I watched Piers Morgan interview Cenk Uyger. Cenk (Turkish for ‘war’ or ‘battle’) is a Turkish American. He’s an outspoken Democrat from California who is considering entering the Presidential race against Biden.

10

  1. He claims to have grown up with Jewish friends. I believe him.

  2. He completely condemns Hamas’ terror attack on Oct 7.

  3. He then ‘violently’ (he’s a big man, physically) attacks Israel’s response, plus its treatment of the Palestinians for 56 years – since 1967.

11

There are currently over 32,000 comments. I read the first 20 or so. Practically every one of them praise Piers for keeping quiet and letting Cenk have his say. Piers gets a lot of kudos from his audience for finally ‘staying back’.

But EVERY one of those 20 or so clearly supported the Palestinian cause.  (I repeat: none of them side-stepped and defended Hamas). All focused ONLY on supporting Palestinian rights and criticising Israel. And, quite obviously, all were using the general term ‘Palestinians’.

12

I am now considering how to respond. For respond I must. And I have an opportunity to do it without the extremely powerful Mr. Uyger attacking me. This is a project, and I think I shall entitle it ‘Answering Uyger’. If I get through it, if I am satisfied with my words, then I shall openly try to communicate them to Mr Uyger. I do not stand a chance face to face with the man. But I believe he does not stand a chance with me, pen to pen.

13

Except, what I expect to discover is that he will still not be convinced. I think we can liken this campaign against Israel as yet another conspiracy theory; that my facts will not be able to budge their facts. (In the meantime, I have sent emails to Mr. Uyger. Let’s see).

We were forced into the stairwell again today. The explosions were close. We do not know if they were hits – or missiles shot down. Right now, both sounds have the same effect.

14

If my parents told us anything about the London blitz, it was the atmosphere in the underground (subway) stations. Now I understand. Perfect way to unite a people. Well, not exactly perfect.

Stephen
