Voyages of the Narrowboat Oshun Oxtra – August 2023

Thursday 10th August 2023 – morning

Moored in Nottingham on the cut near the marina. After funnel meeting, I pulled away (third time ever) and drove the Oshun Oxtra through Nottingham city and into Castle Lock. We met “MeganandTinks” with their special needs crew, and then Stephen took us through huge locks, manned by CRT staff, and onto the river Trent.

Thursday 10th August – afternoon

We stopped for lunch at the Ferryboat Inn during our journey of around 10 miles down the river Trent. Sunshine, Canada geese and luxurious trees made for a surprisingly enjoyable trip and we moored for the night at GunThorpe lock.
