Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, usually of five players each,
 face off against each other on a rectangular court, competing with
 the primary goal of shooting a ball into a basket.

The aim of the game is to beat the opponents by throwing the ball through
 the opponent's basket from above while preventing the opponents
 from doing it themselves. An attempt to score this way is called a shot
. A successful shot is worth two points, or three points if taken beyond the
 three-point arc. A one-point shot can be earned when shooting from the foul
 line after committing a foul.

The game is played in four quarters of 10 minutes or 12 minutes per quarter
 in the NBA.
If there is a tie at the end of the four quarters there will be a 5 minute
 overtime until one of the teams wins.
