Seating

You start by sitting with your legs on the floor and then you hold the guitar from a seated position in an appropriate chair. The body of the guitar–the part with the strings and the sound-hole–should be on the side of your dominant hand.

Hand Placement

When you fret a note, keep your finger as close to the fretwire as you can. This ensures that there is a good break angle against the fret, which results in a note that rings out cleanly. Placing your finger too far away from the fret will result in buzzing or muted notes. Having your finger far away from the fret will also cause you to use more strength than is necessary to get a clean sounding note. The closer your finger is to a fret, the less effort you will need to apply to get a clean note. However, you do not want to place your finger directly on the fret as it will also cause a muted note. Always have your finger slightly behind the fret.

How to read Tab

Guitar tab is read left to right, and all notes indicated are in chronological order. When the numbers are in line with each other vertically, they represent a chord. A chord is played by strumming all the indicated strings at the same time. Guitar tab notation is better for the beginner than standard notation, for it tells you what notes to play to make the chord and where you can find them on your guitar.

How to perform Hot Cross Buns

You play it on your 1st string it’s called The high E string. You can use are these Fret markers some of them are dots, you might have different types of inlays but basically you have one on the 3rd, the 5, and the 7, 9, and 12 and so on so. What we’re gonna do is we’re gonna find the 7th fret it’s gonna be the 3rd dot and we’re gonna play seven, five, and three ok we’re gonna repeat that seven, five, and three. Now we’re gonna play 3 four times, five and seven. Once you play that and you complete that I suggest going to the second string and playing the same pattern. You go to the third string, the fourth string, the fifth string, and the sixth string like the same pattern.
