- Read the book Mel wrote and discussed what the doors in his story symbolize
- Homework: write a children’s book about an animal/object that was lost
- Talked about the theory of the “dead author” (after the author’s book is published, he actually ‘dies’ on the book, because everyone interprets it in a different way and not necessarily in the way the author intended)

- Shuli Rosenberg (Mel’s wife) – managed three full careers, believing in self-challenge and stepping out of the comfort zone.
