football is the most popular sport in the world. it has become a game that symbolizes much more than 22 man running around a ball in order to score a goal. it is a literally popular sport. through its position as a social and cultural gathering,some thing were brought into this sport in order to make more than a game. and here enter the football chants.
it is a form of vocalisation performed by football supporters, an expression of collective identity to show their pride or to support the team. fans also use chants against other teams and their fans,especially rival teams.

but there are some specific song that came to define a club, to become it’s anthem,like a national anthem of a country. the most known example to me is the song “you’ll never walk alone” by gerry and the pacemakers. it is best know as the anthem of liverpool FC. how did it became a sporting anthem? well,first the bands were citizens of liverpool and club fans, and when they presented the song to legendary manager bill shankly he was in awe from it,and it quickly became a favorite of the fans too,who began to sing it in the terraces ever since 1965 before,durning and after the matches. for them the song was an expression of the unity of the club,players and fans together,of how no matter what they are always together,in the good and in the bad,like friends helping out each other.
