The Lucky Day

One day a little skinny man knocked on Kim and Katy’s door. In the meantime Kim and Katy were sitting at the kitchen table thinking about what to eat for dinner.

“We could make hot soup!” suggested Kim

“That soup costs a lot of money,” disagreed Katy but still didn’t shout

“You’re right,” agreed Kim.
Then they heard a knock on the door

“I’ll get it!” cried Kim already running to the door

while Katy was thinking “Who could be knocking at the door at this time of day?”

But before Kim opened the door he remembered that Katy had taught him not to open the door before asking “who is it?” and after hearing the answer he should open the door. Kim staring through the window asked

“Who is it?”

When Katy heard this she jumped off her chair ready to hug her little brother but couldn’t because at that same moment a small voice replied, “It’s an old man”
