ABOUT THE PROJECT
(GRAB YOUR POPCORN! WATCH AND SPEAK!)
For a long time, cinema and literature have been leisure activities that make our life pleasant and entertaining.
But they are above all art. They have educational components in addition to entertaining features. If watched with interest, movies reveal rich visual, auditory, verbal and rhythmic elements. It is very important to make students aware of these elements to help them analyse and adapt to any situation and understand how their own behaviours can have beneficial consequences in their daily lives. Besides cinema opens our minds to different points of view and allow us to enrich our knowledge of the world. Students will learn how to be more efficient to acquire new knowledge and will be more successful in their lessons.
Speaking, listening, reading, writing, observing will improve the students’ verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
They will affirm their own personality and become more self-confident.Just like books, movies allow students insight into the lives of different characters, how their perspective differs and how they handle certain situations. Films provide authentic language input and a stimulating framework for classroom discussions. They also provide a realistic view of the language and culture providing insights into the reality of life of native English speakers.

We arranged online meetings, met each other, decided what to do and how to do, had chat about the details , planned and then evaluated the activities.

OUR TEACHERS PREPARED A “COMMON GLOSSARY BOOKLET OF MOVIES” which includes adjectives used in movies, cinematic terms, types of movies.

We prepared various word games, quiz shows and puzzles about adjectives used in movies, cinematic terms and types of movies. For this purpose we formed 6 transnational teams. Students of these teams prepared questions and then each team prepared puzzles or games by using other team’s questions via Web2 tools like Quizizz, Kahoot, LearningApps etc.

For “Safer Internet Day”
(8th February)
Our students prepared safe internet rules wordclouds by using WordArt or other word cloud apps.
Students took their own photos with their hero’s (favourite movie character’s) costumes, and then via ChatterPix app they introduced their character by using their own voices and speeches.

We prepared a common booklet about quotes of Harry Potter movie series. Our students chose their favourite quotes of Harry Potter movies.And then they designed posters on Canva, wrote their favourite quotes. Finally, we collected them in a common booklet. We have 2 common final products.
1- “Final Common Short Animation Film Script (via StoryJumper)”
2- “Final Common Short Animation Film (via Plotagon)”
We prepared a collaborative animation movie script via Story jumper tool.
Each partner had two scenes of animation movie.

And the other final common product is Short Animation Film. We used our common script and each partner created their own 2 scenes. Every teacher in order entered the Plotagon and completed the animation film collaboratively.

We as teachers, students and parents filled the survey at the beginning and at the end of the project in order to evaluate how much we learnt and improved ourselves through the project.
Both every teacher and our students created avatars and the recorded our voices in order to evaluate the project, express feelings by using Voki app.
