The Seven Continents

In this eBook, I will be discussing the seven continents that make up our world. The continents are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antartica. This will be targeted for students in Grade 3, as they are beginning to learn more about the world around them!

Student Learning Objectives:

1. Students will label at least 4/7 continents correctly on a map.

2. Students will know how to sing the continent song that contains all of the continents.

The world around us is so vast and diverse that is is crucial that we have a label for each area in the world! On Earth, there are 7 large masses of land that we call Continents, and it is important that we are able to locate them on a map! The seven continents are:

1. North America

2. South America

3. Europe

4. Asia

5. Africa

6. Australia

7. Antartica

To help us remember these continents better and learn a little bit about each one, here is a song that will make it fun to see what each of these seven continents have to offer!

Discussions:

1. What continent do we live on?

2. Do you know where your family members may have immigrated from before they came to North America?

3. Which continent would you like to learn more about?

Homework:

1. Choose 1 of the 7 continents to research.

2. Explore 1 language that is spoken there other than English.

3. Explore 1 animal that could be found there.

4. Come up with one cool fact you would like to share with the class.
