Me, Myself And I

My name is Lucas Johnson and this is my story. Before I begin ,I need to tell you a few things:
First, I was born in 2005 and now I am 16 years old.
Second, I was born in New York but now my family and I live in Lima, Ohio.
The last thing you need to know about me is that 2 years ago I realized that I was gay.

My story begins on my first day of 9th grade, at the time I was 14 years old and getting used to the idea of being gay.
My day started like any other day, but soon enough it became unbearable to me.
My life was good until someone from my class told everyone that I was gay, from that moment on my life has changed…

By the way, the classmate who exposed me to the school was Derek shepherd. The most popular kid in school. Since that day, every recess ended up with me in a trash can, and guess who was doing it to me?! Derek shepherd and his friends.

One day they came up to me at recess and started yelling at me that I was gay and I’m shameful and should kill myself, then one of them came up to me and started fighting with me while others held me. The next thing I remember was being in the hospital.

Apparently one of them broke my left leg. I really don’t know which one of them was it and I know that they will never confess to who did it.

A week has gone by, and we still didn’t know who did it, but my leg was getting better. At first I thought it was Derek, because he was the leader. Then I thought it was Daniel Oz, but apparently it was none of them.

A few days later Derek decided to tell me who broke my leg and it was Ben Goldenberg. A week after Derek told me who broke my leg, the entire group came to my house to give me a card, some cookies and an apology. When they apologized they told me how wrong they were and how they think that what they did to me was awful and that they are truly and deeply sorry.

2 years later and here we are today, apparently after the group apologized they started to attend protests against homophobia and up to today they have gone to 200 protests and are very active on that issue. Now I live my life peacefully with my new boyfriend, and you will be shocked to hear that my boyfriend is no other than Derek. we are very happy together.
