Malye Korely is a village in Primorsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, in the north of Russia. The main sight of the village is an open-air museum, featuring the traditional wooden architecture of Arkhangelsk area. The museum is located on the right bank of the Northern Dvina River close to the mouth of the Korelka River, about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast from the city of Arkhangelsk.
The main museum area is divided into four sectors:
The Kargopol and the Onega sector, representing the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk Oblast, the Onega River and villages around the town of Kargopol;
The Dvina sector, representing the Northern Dvina River
The Northern Dvina is a river in northern Russia flowing through the Vologda Oblast and Arkhangelsk Oblast into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea. Along with the Pechora River to the east, it drains most of Northwest Russia into the Arctic Ocean.
The Mezen sector, representing the Mezen River.
The Mezen is a river in Udorsky District of the Komi Republic and in Leshukonsky and Mezensky Districts of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. Its mouth is located in the Mezen Bay of the White Sea. Mezen is one of the biggest rivers of European Russia.
The Pinega sector, representing the Pinega River. This sector is currently incomplete. The Pinega is a river in Verkhnetoyemsky, Pinezhsky, and Kholmogorsky Districts of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. It is a right tributary of the Northern Dvina. Its main tributaries are the Ilesha, the Vyya, the Yula, the Pokshenga, and the Yozhuga.
