Summer’s Reading

George went into the library and started counting one hundred books. He decided to start reading the first book in the library and he really enjoyed the experience. He came back on the next day and continued to read more and more books until he read 100 books.

The pleasure of reading books inspired him to write a book about his life even though he knew it would involve hard work.

George wanted to share his idea with Mr. Cattanzara. He wanted to consult with him whether he had a chance to succeed and sell the book.

When Mr. Cattanzara heard George his eyes opened. At that point of time in his life, Mr. Cattanzara felt that his life had reached a dead end and the American dream was hard for him to get unless he made a turning point. In addition,  he thought George owed him  a favor because he convinced him to read books and it was his turn to become famous and successful in business.

At that moment, Mr. Cattanzara  decided to publish of the book and acquire the copyrights.

He told George to leave him a copy of the book so he could write a  review and correction notes. George acceded to the request and left a copy of the book in the hands of Mr. Cattanzara.

Mr. Cattanzara used the opportunity and turned to a publishing house which printed and sold it to bookstores. Time passed and George did not receive any response from his neighbor.

A few weeks later, George entered the library in order to borrow a book. He saw that people were surrounding and treating Mr. Cattanzara with admiration, asking for autographs on the book. George immediately realized that the neighbor had stolen the book he had written and yelled to the public:” This book is Mine” , he stole it from me”……………. Unfortunately,  no one believed him and he was driven away from the library.

George returned home nervous and disappointed, mainly because he did not expect the good neighbor he trusted to be the one who betrayed him. After a few hours, George decided that he would open an investigation and prove that the book was his.

He bought the book and sought proof through which he would prove that the book was his.

He thought about it for a long time and suddenly he remembered that at the bottom of the cover he had signed his personal signature. As soon as he remembered that he checked the book and he did find the signature there. He turned to the publishing house and showed them the proof that the book was indeed his. After a long discussion Mr. Cattanzara apologized several times but George was unwilling to hear even one thing from him.

Since that moment George became well known , everyone gave him  respect and appreciation. He became a  famous author, got rich, married and lived at an amazing house with a porch. The most important conclusion that George drew from what had happened was that the truth always comes out. George eventually reached the American Dream he had dreamed about since the beginning of the story.
