What is technology?
Galbraith (1967, s.12) defines ‘technology’ concept as “systematic application of scientific or other systematic knowledge to practical fields” (Heinich et.al. 1993, ref:Yalın, 2006).
Alkan defines the concept of technology as “the application of science to problems in the fields of production, service, transportation, etc.”.
In addition, according to Alkan (1987, Ref: Yalın, 2006) the concept of technology includes “various elements such as machines, processes, methods, processes, systems, management and control mechanisms” and technology is “a discipline that is formed by bringing these elements together in a certain order and serves as a bridge between science and practice”.
What is Instructional Technology?
Heinich et al. (1993, p.16) defines instructional technology as “the application of our scientific knowledge about how people learn to solve teaching and learning problems”.
In its most comprehensive definition, instructional technology is “the systematic design, implementation and evaluation of the whole teaching and learning process in terms of specific specific objectives, using human and material resources together, based on research-related learning and communication, in order to provide a more effective teaching” (Reiser, 1987, p.11; Ref: Yalın,2006).
