“AFTER THE DREAM”

Hi! 

My name is Emily, and I’m about to tell you the dream I had yesterday.

When I was little, my parents and I immigrated to Israel from France, since then I really like sweets and baking because my mom was a famous pastry chef in France.

After a couple years my mom passed away so I grew up with my father.

Since my mom passed away I have had my biggest dream, to become a famous pastry chef in France like my mom was and continue her legacy.

After few years, when I grew up my father introduced to me a woman and said ״she’s about to be my wife”. 

I was happy for dad but I didn’t like this woman.

Three of us lived together in our house and every day my stepmother behaved badly, disrespectfully and laughed at me. 

Destroyed my cakes, made me clean but worst of all, she laughed at my mother.

I cried and I’ve decided it’s enough! I can’t suffer this disrespectful behaviour anymore.

Although all my love for my father, I need a change, I have to leave the house and fulfill my dream.

The same evening I packed my little suitcase, ordered a flight ticket, separated with my dad and boarded the flight to Paris.

When I arrived, it took me a couple days to understand what I am doing now ? Why am I there? What am I supposed to do in a new county ?

But then suddenly I received a message from my childhood friend- Alex, I didn’t talk to her since we left France. 

We met for a coffee and we talked a lot about our past, present and our future.

Suddenly both of us discovered that our dream was to set up a patisserie, but we didn’t want to compete with each other.

I had an idea! Why won’t we establish a patisserie together? Alex really loved the idea and both of us started working on our project.

Day and night we worked on recipes, products, quantities and hundreds of tries to make the best desserts.

Of Course I didn’t forget to add to the menu my mom’s favourite dessert, her creme brulee.

We found the perfect place for our business, right next to the Eiffel Tower and both of us immediately agreed about the new patisserie’s name “after the dream”.

We opened our new patisserie and lots of people arrived to taste our new desserts.

Suddenly, I woke up and realized that the dream was the story of my life.

I started the morning as much as I like with coffee in the pool, and then I went to my favorite workplace.

There I met Alex and we both keep working for what we dreamed and worked for many years, our Patisserie!
