Munich Olympics

The Munich Massacre took place in 1972

Summer Olympics in Germany. Israel sent

15 athletes. The Olympic games that year,

were overshadowed by the massacre.

The masscre happened in the early morning of September 5th

and was done by Palestinian terrorist group – Black September.

They took 11 of the Israeli Olympic team hostage after killing

two others. They demanded Israel release over 230 Arab

prisoners and two German terrorists that were held in Israel.

Black September received logistical assistance from local neo-Nazis. The nine Israeli hostages were killed during a failed rescue attempt in the Munich airport. Along with them, were

killed 5 terrorists and one German policeman. We will always remember this brutal murdur. May the victims rest in peace.
