ВСТУП
Методичні рекомендації до практичних занять з навчальної дисципліни «Розмовний практикум (англійська мова)» включає практичні завдання (вправи, тести, навчальні відео), направлені на розвиток навичок говоріння іноземною (англійською) мовою. Електронне видання призначене як для аудиторної, так і для самостійної роботи студентів усіх спеціальностей та освітніх програм. Навчальний посібник створено задля розвитку навичок підготовленого та непідготовленого мовлення студентами 2 курсу усіх спеціальностей та освітніх програм, поглиблення вже набутих знань з лексики англійської мови. Посібник містить 6 підтем у рамках ширшої тематики “Люди (People)”, засвоєння яких розраховане на один семестр. Кожна підтема включає посилання на автентичний додатковий лексичний матеріал, навчальні відео та посилання на вправи для закріплення вивченого матеріалу й розрахована на 80 хвилин аудиторної або самостійної роботи студентів.
Методичні рекомендації призначені для студентів вищих навчальних закладів, що вивчають іноземну мову (англійську), хочуть поглибити знання тематичної лексики та попрактикувати її вживання у різних силуаціях, фахівців, які прагнуть вдосконалити англомовні навички говоріння, а також для всіх тих, хто бажає підвищити і поглибити власний рівень володіння іноземною мовою.

The most common ways of asking someone’s age is English is:
How old are you?
Or How old is your brother/sister?
- I am 25 years old.
- I am 25.
- I am 25 years of age (this is a very formal way of expressing age)
- I am 25 years. (this is incorrect. Use the expression ‘years old’ or ‘years of age’)
- My fried has two sons aged 8 and 10. (with ‘has’ in the sentence, do not use ‘years’. ‘Aged’ is an adjective in the sentence)
- My friend has a daughter aged 5. (not 5 years old)
- My neighbor has a four-month-old baby. ( do not say four months old baby)
- My uncle has a twenty-year-old daughter. (not ‘a twenty years old daughter’)
Age of things: we can express the age of things in the following ways.
- My house is 40 years old. (not ‘my house is 40’)
- My twenty-year-old car still runs smoothly. (not twenty years old car)
At times, you may not want to reveal your real age. So, you may use certain words that would state an approximate age.
- He is in his early/mid/late twenties.
- She is in her teens. (anywhere between thirteen to nineteen)
- Most students in my class are above/below the age of twenty.
- Maria is nearly/almost 40. (not far from being 40 years old)
- John is about 50. (around 50 years of age)
- He must be under 18.
Language about age
early twenties – a person aged 21-23; early thirties 31-33, early forties 41-43 etc.
mid-twenties – 24-26; mid thirties 34-36, etc.
late twenties – 27-29; late thirties 37-39, etc.
in his/her teens, a teenager – aged 13-19
middle-aged – generally, a person between 40 – 60
-ish – an informal suffix meaning ‘approximately’, i.e.
- He’s fifty-ish. = aged 48-52

Expressing likes and dislikes
To talk about your likes and dislikes, you can use these expressions.
Expressing likes:
- I like… мені подобається
- I love…мені подобається I like smth/ I like doing smth
- I adore…я обожнюю
- I prefer..я надаю перевагу
- I am crazy about… я шаленію від
- I am mad about…я шаленію від
- I enjoy… мені подобається
- I am into..
- I am fond of..

Expressing dislikes:

Expressing dislikes:
You can use negative forms of the like expressions to show your dislikes.
For instance,

The following expressions are also great ways to express dislikes.
Example: I am not into hanging out with friends at weekends.
Combination of likes and dislikes:
1. Mad about but can’t bear
Example: I am mad about football, but I can’t bear cricket.
I’m mad about basketball, but I can’t bear ice hockey.
2. Adore but loathe doing
Example: I adore reading novels, but I loathe doing the homework.
I adore reading poetry, but I loathe doing the housework.
If you neither like nor dislike something – Neither like nor dislike
1. Don’t mind
Example: I don’t mind driving you to the airport.
I don’t mind doing the housework.”
Things to remember about likes and dislikes:
- When these expressions are followed by a verb, the latter is put in the -ing form.
Examples:
“I like listening to music.”
“I hate wearing sunglasses.”

Example: I can’t stand reading textbooks.
- Note that” very much”& ” a lot” always come after the things you like.
Examples:
“I like basketball very much/a lot. NOT” I like very much/a lot basketball.”
- Be careful when you use “I don’t mind…”
Examples:
“Do you mind playing football?”
“No, I don’t mind.”(Although it’s in a negative form, it means that it’s ok for me. I neither love it nor hate it.)
Dialogue:
Steve is at home. His girlfriend comes in…

на самом деле изучать времена, без отрыва от лексического запаса было бы не правильно, просто потому как эти две темы незамены, по крайней мере нас так учили на курсе https://englishpapa.ru/, и по мере роста в словарном запасе, грамматика, как таковая, будет подтягиваться следом, и переход от одной темы к другой, при изучении, будет последовательным, и вы перестанете теряться не только в смысловом, но и вразговорном запасе, потому как будете знать где и что сейчас актуально применить
