On the other side of the world

In Gush Etzion there are two best friends who can’t be separated.

Mia and Rose,

They are almost like sisters.

Every day after school they like to go to the park and ride their bicycle.

Everybody knows that you can’t find Mia without Rose and Rose without Mia.

When Mia and Rose were riding around the park

Mia was faster then Rose

Rose called Mia in her special nickname that she made up especially for her-

MOANA

(Moana was the perfect name, Mia has wavy black hair, just like Moana’s

Mia also likes going to the beach.)

 Mia always waited for her.

 In school when Mia was playing with friends

 Rose was doing schoolwork 

Mia called Rose in her special nickname that she made up especially for her-

RAPUNZEL

( Rapunzel was the perfect name, Rose had long blonde hair and her favorite animal is a lizard, just like Rapunzel the princess.) 

 Rose always came to play with her.

Rose and Mia are neighbor’s and their rooms face each other’s room.

When they had something important to say they called each other from their room in their special nicknames-

MOANA

RAPUNZEL

And one of them would climb out of her window and into the other’s room.

Then they would tell each other whatever they needed to tell.

It was summer time.

Mia and Rose rode their bicycle every day

They had a wonderful time and they never thought something was going to change their life very soon.

 one day Rose’s family  told Rose they were moving to a very far place…

…Texas,

 It was the end of summer vacation when Rose’s family moved there.

Slowly Mia and Rose met new  friends but  They missed each other so much

Mia stopped riding her bike and no one knew she ever had a best friend.

She never called anyone from her bedroom window, 

She always thought to herself

When will Rose be back??

She thought about her all the time.

In Texas there was nowhere to ride bicycles 

And she missed playing with Mia

She thought about her all the time, in school, at the park, at night and everywhere she was.

“If I scream really hard, Rose will hear me, right?”

Mia asked her mom

Mom said “No she is to far,

Every day when you go to school she wakes up”

 “If I scream really hard, Rose will hear me, right?”

Mia asked her dad

Dad said “no, Rose is in the other side of the ocean,

When you are up in the day, it’s night for her”

“If I scream really hard, Rose will hear me, right?”

Mia asked her old teacher

“Maybe” said the teacher, “you can always try”.

Then Mia reached out her hands as far as she could and bent her head back.

RAPUNZEL

Mia’s voice echoed and crossed the park,

 the end of the block and the end of the city.

It crossed the country and the ocean.

People heard it in parks and stores.

People heard it all over the world.

At Rose’s house one hour later:

Rose woke up and got out of bed and went to eat breakfast

“I dreamed an amazing dream, she said while eating her eggs

I dreamed that Mia called me from her room”

Said Rose

I heard it too in my dream, said Rose’s mother and laughed.

An hour later:

Mia went to the park and rode her bike, she looked at her other friends playing next to her and imagined her and Rose playing together.

And then Mia ran to them and asked them if they wanted to ride with her around the park, and everyone brought their bike’s and came.

She called Rose on Facetime and told her to join them by riding her bike in Texas.

They both had so much fun for the first time in a very long time.

After a couple of years Rose finally came back to Israel.

They quickly started talking and playing, Everyone remembered the days that they were best friends and they quickly realized that now they are even better friends then before.
