The useful and the useless

A “maker” is better called a “Junk hugger” is a  curious person who believes that any piece of junk may be converted to something alse (useful or useless).

Hagai cohen is a maker with numerous projects of great diversity. This book shows a few of his many projects.  More will be added in the future.

Sensory-feedback-stimulant

The cylindrical box cover was cut into four segments. To each segment, an electric vibrating motor Is attached .each motor vibrates At a different frequency. (From hammering to tickling) the toy was designed for children with fine motor skills impediment. The sensory feedback stimulant augmenting the feedback to the brain and improving the fingers’ control.

The vodka maker

The fermented fruits are heated to the right temperature in this fractional distillation. each substance is evaporating and condensing separately. at the end of the process, you have rubbing alcohol in one container and a drinkable schnaps on the other.

The mutant organ

The secret Kinnernet society of dr Yosi Vardi,

the guru of the startup community in Israel, convenes every year for three days’ unconference.

at one time we prepared a show of mutant musical instruments.

one of them was this organ

36 recorders each was plugged to make a single specific tone. an air conditioner blower supplied the constant airflow and the keyboard opens a valve when depressed. for no reason, the keyboard was arranged backward.
