School #5 was opened on September 1, 1970. It is very large. More than 700 children study in it. In 2016 the school was named by Valeriy Dotsenko. He was a student of our school and a motocross champion. He took part in different international competitions. He had many medals for his first places. But he died on September 18, 2011 at a motocross in Kyrovohrad. He was only 13 years old. There are many his awards at the stand on the fourth floor of our school. We are very proud of this small hero and named our school on his memory.
