the Amish way of life

The Amish people live mostly in Pennsylvania  , Canada, Ohio, and Indiana.

They came originally from Europe- Switzerland, Alsace, and southern Germany.

The Amish people live a normal life, just without the modern life.

They don’t use cars, electricity, plumbings, electronics…

The Amish ladies wear soild-colored dresses with long sleeves and a full skirt with an apron

The Amish men usually wear straight-cut suits and black trousers with suspenders and a straw hat.

They live in villages

They have a big basement (that can fill over one hundred people) in their house, so that they can have church gatherings, wash room, play space, storage for canned goods, or even living space during warmer months

There are two types of houses- the small ones for the grandparents and single people, and the big ones for a whole family. Some of them have a sink right when you enter the house.

The Amish people don’t use cars, so instead they use carriages with horses for transportation.

The occupations of man are home construction, crafting furniture, machine and engine repair, food stands, factory work, produce farming, small food businesses and more..

The occupations of the Amish ladies are running the household, which involved preparing the house for church and other gatherings, planting the garden, canning and preparing the food, also some Amish woman choose to work as running roadside stand, baking housekeepers..

The Amish people are Christian, they believe in their god.

They learn in one-room schools for eight years.

they choose this way of life because they believe their faith calls for them to lead a lifestyle that includes hard work and intelligence, their religion also calls for them to lead a lifestyle which they practice hearing, calmness, and peace.
