In Nova Scotia, in 1860, a big ship called Mary Celeste
started sailing. During her glorious times, she was possessed
by a number of different owners. Ultimately, a new captain
purchased the ship for $3,000. The new captain was called
Benjamin Briggs. He was a 37-year-old master with three
earlier commands. What is mysterious about the ship started
after this purchase. Captain Briggs, his wife, young daughter
and a crew of eight departed for a journey from New York on
November 7, 1872. The ship was loaded with 1700 barrels to be taken to Genoa, Italy.
Unfortunately, the captain, his family and the experienced crew were never seen again.The ship was found floating in the middle of the Strait of Gibraltar. And what’s more, there were no signs of struggle on board and all documents except the captain’s log were missing.
