The world is deteriorating more and more, and faster and faster, in everything, but more frighteningly, in the environmental impact.
Despite this, there are binding laws that try to induce people to don’t make the current situation worse, which are not always effective (in the meaning that they don’t lead to great results, even in the long run).
To really bring good results, the community needs to truly believe that EVERYONE is doing something for a better future (not totally changing one’s life, but improving it), even in small steps.
Let’s get to the point of the matter.
What could people do to avoid further damaging the environment?
Purchase “0 km” food, it’s certainly one of the easiest and most comfortable ideas to implement.
First of all, the purchase of “0 kilometers” food, means buying local products for which we avoid the emission of large quantities of CO2 due to the long transport of food.
Other factors are linked to this possible choice.
These concern the economy (as the local economy is more supported) and personal well-being (as it’s possible to consume fresh products without harmful artificial preservatives).
Always attached to the “reduction” to help the environment, we can speak of other simple and daily types of reduction.
For what concerns the food, people can reduce waste in different ways: by purchasing ONLY what we need, by cooking the right portions, by following the seasonality (fruit, vegetables, fish) and the biologity.
A very recurrent problem attached is that of intensive breeding, therefore, it would be better to be able to consume less meat by replacing them with different protein meals (also because they have more sustainable and less polluting costs).
