Little Women-A Classic Tale Of Laughter And Tears
About the author: Louisa May Alcott was an American novelist in the years 1832-1888. She published Little Women originally in two volumes in 1868 and 1869.
Genre: Coming of age and romance. -The book is aimed towards all ages.
Little Women is the story of four girls-pretty Meg, headstrong Jo, sweet Beth, and spoiled Amy-growing up with plenty of spirit but little money during the Civil War era in New England. We read about every woman’s story and watch them take their journey from childhood to adulthood.
The theme in Little Women is self sacrifice and that one must balance family with personal wishes in order to truly grow.
I really enjoyed Louisa’s writing style. Her writing has a way of making you feel like you’re inside the book and make you feel connected with all the characters. It’s like you really know them. I just couldn’t put the book down! I wanted to know more about the remarkable little women and their life changing decisions.
I am rating this book with 5 stars. I loved it.

Expiration Date- a book from a different world

“funny how something so big only takes a turn of a heel to start”

Mikaela Bender started writing her first novel, “Expiration Date”, when she was only 16 years old and completed it within a year with 72 chapters. It’s hard to believe that the whole story was inspired by a writing prompt Bender saw on the social media “Pinterest”. The “Expiring” series is sci-fi and romance and is aimed at teenagers and young-adults.

The science fiction thriller is placed in the United States and follows 19-year-old orphan Iris Levine, the story’s protagonist. She lives in a world where everyone learns the date they are destined to die, which is tattooed on their arm at birth.

When Iris’ time arrives, however, a mysterious man saves her from dying. That glitch in the system starts a battle and a race against the “society”, which rules the citizens’ lives and deaths.

I think readers would enjoy this book because it’s different, I never saw a storyline like this- with so many discoveries on each page and a suspenseful plot that continues throughout the whole book. In addition, the writing style is great and abundant and gives uniqueness to itself that you can not understand unless you read the book.

If I had to rate this book I would give it 4 or 5 stars, I think this book is brilliant in all ways.

This is a fantasy book and for kids over the age 11.

The moral of this book is – coping with challenges and never giving your aspirations.

I liked this book although there are other books I liked more. I most liked that kids can enjoy this book by connecting to the feelings and the behaviors of the characters.

I give this book 4 stars – I like it and I enjoyed it.

‘All American Girl’- The Girl Who Saved The President Of America’s Life

The book ‘All American Girl’ is written by the author Meg Cabot.

The story is about a 15 year old named Samanatha Madison, who lives in Washington D.C. Sam has an older sister who is the most popular girl in school, and a younger sister who is practically a genius.

The book begins when Samanatha’s parents catch her drawing during her lessons and they decide to send her to art classes. Sam doesn’t enjoy her art class and  she escapes the lessons. Instead of going to the studio, Sam goes to the music shop next door. When she leaves the shop, she sees the president of America,  and realizes that the suspicious man next to her wants  to  shoot the president. Without thinking too much, she jumps on the man, and lands on the floor with him on top, and breaks her arm.  And that is how she saves the president of America’s! Read the book  in order to see what happens next!

I found this book really entertaining. The book was very funny, but yet it still had  an interesting plot, and brilliant characters. I really liked the author’s way of writing. The book was so well written that I forgot it was only a story!

The book has 398 pages, but because it is suitable for teenage girls, the reading goes quite quickly, and you don’t really notice the length of the book.

I give the book 5 stars, because I think it is just amazing!

Mary Poppins/ P.L.Travers 12 chapters(there are no pages).

Mary Poppins super woman with magic powers!

Pamela Lyndon Travers(original name Helen Lyndon Goff)  was an Australian English author, a journalist, a poetess and a literature critic.                                                               She was born in August 1899 in Maryborough in Australia, and died in April 1996.                                                    She published her first Mary poppins book in 1934.               In 1977 she received a Knighthood because of her contribution to literature.                                                      Mary Poppins is a fantasy book which to children.                  The setting:Seventeen Cherry Tree Lane, London        Characters: Mary Poppins the nanny of Jane Michael John and Barbara(twins).                                                                    The kids are human and very likeable. Mary Poppins is a human but she has magic powers and she is rude so she isn’t likeable.                                                                              All her magic are seen by kids only and not adults.                I think that young children will enjoy this book very much because it includes magic, animals and people. Some of the adventures are based on the real world. It’s written in 3rd person. The author always stands on the side and describes the events that happened to all the characters.                      I feel the book isn’t so complete and there are some elements which are missing, most of the events are expected and there is no surprise effect in general.                                              I am not intrested much in this book because there is no climax in it.                                                                    The book is full of illustrations, the aim of the illustrations is to catch the children’s eyes.                                                  The rate of the book is three stars because the topic of the book is too childish.

Misty Falls – Come To Discover What Made Her Lose Her Hold In The Ground….

“Misty Falls” is the fourth book of the ‘savant series’ which was written by the British author Joss Striling

The story is a fantasy but with a hold of the reality, I’d say. Although the book is aimed for teenagers, I believe that adults could also enjoy it.

The story takes place in the present.

The plot of the book concentrates on Misty, a teenager who is  the main character of the book. Misty is the oldest in her family – and she has one hell of a family…. Misty’s family are savants. And ‘What is a savant?’ you’re asking? A savant is a human who has a special gene that makes him go farther and faster from regular people. Each savant has his own gift, such as: controlling water, reading minds, or in Misty’s case – power of the truth. She knows when someone lies and can’t ever lie herself.  Her inability to lie caused her lots of embarrassment. Throughout her life she struggles with her gift,  and wishes for something more useful and less embarrassing.

During the book Misty goes through good  and hard times- eventually you’ll see how she learns from everything about herself, her gift and her love once.

Joss Striling’s writing and forming of the character is absolutely wonderful. While reading the story I felt inside Misty’s mind and really feeling everything through her.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend you to read the whole series!

I rate this book –

THE TOWER OF NERO- THE LAST TRIAL

After 15 years, 21 books, and 5 series. The American author Rick Riordan closes the fantasy world of the Percy Jackson universe with the last book.

The Tower of Nero” sums up the five-book series “The Trials of Apollo”.

Yes, this book is about the sun God Apollo, better known as Lester Papadopoulos.

Apollo, after being punished to earth by his father, Zeus, meets the 12-year-old Meg McCaffrey, a mortal demigod, who is the daughter of the goddess Demeter. Meg and Apollo need to travel to New York to defeat her evil stepfather, the emperor Nero, in order to save the world.

However, those are not the only obstacles the duo needs to defeat. Typhon, the old arch nemesis of Apollo, has taken over the oracle of Delphi and wants to destroy the world as we know it. But Lester and Meg are not alone; they have Nico Di Angelo, a 15-year-old son of Hades, Will Solace, a 15-year-old son of Apollo and the whole camp half-blood by their side.

The story itself is 396 pages long, and each page is mesmerizing and adventurous, and teaches the importance of friendship and to believe -, have faith in yourself: “Faith is the ability to write your own stories regardless of what the fates throw at us” (Apollo in ”the tower of Nero”). Riordan is able to make the reader laugh and cry, love and become attached to the characters, and learn important lessons from each book.

I give it five stars and recommend it to all teens.

Roni Opatovski

The One-happily ever after anding?

The writer, Kiara Cass said that she began writing The Selection after thinking about Ester and Cinderella and how they ended up

America Singer has reached the final stages of “The Selection”. Out of 35 girls competing for Prince Maxon’s heart and the crown, only 4 girls are left- Elice, Kriss, Celeste and America.                                                                             The book is the last in a science fiction and romance series for “The Selection” for teenagers, which takes place in the state of Illéa, after World War three, in the future. At this time, the country is divided into eight castes. America was in a low caste, five, so when she came to the selection she didn’t dream of going so far in the competition.

I enjoyed reading about the selection and the change and maturity of America and Maxon. During the series I really connected to the characters t, and I wanted to know what would happen to each character at the end of the story – and of course, who would win “The Selection”.                                                                                                                         I think the author’s writing is flowing and interesting. There were parts I laughed at and there were parts I almost cried in the book, and it stayed with me after reading for a long time. I especially liked the descriptions in the book, that made me feel almost like I was in the book. I’m sure I will read it again in the future.

“The School Story” – Publishing a dream

Another wonderful story by Andrew Clements, the author of the bestseller “Frindle”.

The story teaches us about how life can change, if you believe in yourself. It’s a modern novel that took place in New York during a sixth grade school year.

Natalie, a 12 years old girl, who wrote a c after she heard that her mom needed a school story for her job at a publishing company. When Natalie’s best friend, Zoe read the novel she was sure it was so good that it must be published! But how can a 12 years old girl publish a book?

I loved the book!   From the moment that I started to read , I just couldn’t stop and I’m sure that it would be the same for others. The book was so interesting and can inspire many teenagers to fulfill their dreams.

I rate this book 5 stars.

Fault in our stars- an incredible and exciting novel John Green.

John Green is an American author.

His first novel- “Looking for Alaska” published in 2005.

“Fault in our stars” is his fourth solo novel, and sixth novel overall. It was published in 2012.

it’s a romantic novel, realistic fiction which is aimed for teens.

The story is told from the point of view of Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16 year old girl with thyroid cancer that has affected her lungs.

Hazel is forced by her parents and doctor to attend a support group, where she meets Augustus Waters, a 17 year old boy whose osteosarcoma caused him to lose one of his legs.

She also meets Augustus’s friend- Isaac who has eye cancer.

Hazel’s world-view is very realistic- some might say a little pessimistic.

While Augustus cares a lot about being remembered by many people by doing something meaningful- being a “hero”.

They become friends and later on they fall in love.

They fly together to Amsterdam to talk to the author of Hazel’s favorite novel hoping to find out what happens to the characters after it ends.

They go through many exciting and sad experiences together.

I loved the book.

I think others will like it because it’s very exciting,

It’s interesting though a little sad, it’ll make you cry and it’ll make you laugh. the characters are loveable together and apart.

Hazel and Augustus both read each- other’s favorite novels which adds more depth about their character’s personality, making it easier to understand them.

I would definitely rate this book 5 stars.

I couldn’t stop reading it.

Ella Rath

Keeper Of The Lost Cities – A story of action, magic and family all in one!

K.O.T.L.C was written by Shannon Messenger, back in the year 2012. Since she wrote her first book in the series, she has written another six books! Other than her bestselling series, she has since released a young adult series as well named “Sky Fall”. The first book of K.O.T.L.C is 488 pages long, and I would highly  recommend the book to children ages 11-14.

Dive into a magical world,  you didn’t know existed, with Sophie Foster, Fitz Vacker and their group of friends. Meet hundreds of mythical creatures and frightening, dangerous villains. Enjoy the sensation of laughing on one page and the next not being able to tearsteal your eyes away from the page for even one second – you don’t get that very often in books. Get to know what it’s like to have “powers” and get the feelling of learning at a school like ours but a school for magic.

I really loved the books, and I recommend them to any fan of Harry Potter, as well as anyone who is into fantasy. It is a fun gripping book and I promise that you will love it! I would rate the book five stars, because of how well it iswas written. Anyone who reads it, feels as though they are actually there as well! Read the book, and thank me later!
