My Chernobyl journey-getting ready.

December 10th, 2020.

The Chernobyl disaster is a nuclear accident that occurred on the 26th of April, 1986, at the fourth reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine.

I will visit that area after 34 years.

I talked to one of my journalist friends who was in Chernobyl and she told me one important thing:

Chernobyl is not life threatening or poisonous, you should just do exactly what the workers tell you to minimize completely the chance of any risks.

Unfortunately, the only problem that I have is that people will be scared to be near me after I went there.

I am bringing my friend Toby on the trip, because I don’t want to be in that mysterious place alone. We will bring there money, water, radiation counters and walkie-talkies.

My Chernobyl journey-finally going.

December 19th, 2020.

After all of that preparation, I finally went to Chernobyl.

Me and my friend Toby first drove in the safe areas of Chernobyl. We saw many disturbing abandoned places, and they made me even more scared of this place. I think that the main challenge of this journey was not breaking down and crying because of this insane cruel disaster.

After three hours, we made it to Pripyat, the city where the depressing explosion happened. We visited a children’s hospital and in there, there were creepy dolls, old dirty cribs and more. I hope some of the children who were there survived the tragedy.

After some time, we started to get close to the dangerous areas, so we got checked for any excess radiation and went back to Kyiv.

My Chernobyl journey-conclusions.

December 24th, 2020.

I am back at home, still in awe from this amazing trip!

I absolutely loved it, It was 100% worth the money!

Everything there was incredible, every part of that place had years and years of history so I had a great time there.

The only thing that I want to do next time is to bring more supplies, such as: extra money, a camera and more.

Also, I wanted to be more mentally prepared for the trip, seeing all of these frightening places can really affect you if you don’t get ready for it beforehand.

I would definitely go again to Chernobyl, now that I’ve been there and next time, I could see the area in a different light.

Thanks for reading!
