Once upon a time, a young boy named Peter lived with his grandfather in a small house near a forest. The house had a beautiful garden with many trees and flowers in it.

Early every morning, Peter’s grandfather says, “Peter, remember you must stay in the garden. It isn’t safe in the forest. There’s a wolf! Don’t forget that the wolf is dangerous. It can eat you!”
4
Peter and his three friends- the bird, the duck and the cat- listen to Peter’s grandfather. They stay in the garden every day. What do they do? They run around in the sun and play games. They don’t go into the forest.
6
But one sunny day, Peter and his friends don’t listen to Peter’s grandfather. They go into the forest. Why do they go there? To have fun! The duck swims in the water, the bird flies in the trees and the cat walks with Peter. They all enjoy their morning in the forest.

The friends don’t know that the hungry wolf is watching them. The wolf is standing behind a tree. He smiles because he is very happy. “I can have a nice, big meal today,” he thinks.
10
The wolf watches the duck swim.
12
He jumps on it quickly! He eats the duck.
14
Then he runs after the bird and the cat too.
16
But Peter catches the wolf. He saves his friends, the bird and the cat, but it is too late to save the duck.
18
Some hunters find Peter in the forest. Peter tells them about the wolf. “We will help you, Peter!” say the hunters.
20
So the hunters take the wolf to the zoo. Peter, the cat and the bird walk to the zoo with the hunters and the wolf. They can hear the duck crying inside the wolf!
