What is Global Climate change and why is it an issue? Global Climate change is an issue because glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes are breaking up earlier. This can cause flooding and the floods can cover cities in a couple years like Miami. Plants and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. Temperatures will keep rising.
The loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, and more intense heat waves. Greenhouse gases produced by human activities are the couples of issues that cause climate change.
Where in the world has Global climate change is an issue? The mountains, and arctic ecosystem and species are sensitive to climate change. In California study, 16 out of 23 butterflies species shifted their migration timing and arrived earlier. Northeastern birds in the winter in the southern United states are returning north in the springs 13 days earlier than they did centuries ago. Climate change will disrupt the ecological balance between interdependent and often endangered plants and animal species, reduce biodiversity and adversely affect earth water, energy, carbon, and other element cycles.
When did it become an issue? By the 1990s as a result of computing models and observational work confirming that greenhouse gases were deeply involved in climate change which also brought us Global warming. Global warming is changing in a bad way because there are shifting weather patterns that are a threat to food production and can cause rising sea levels that can cause floods, flooding over cities and making them disappear if we don’t act now.
How do we fix it? The best solution to lesson the impact of Global Climate change is to use renewable energy in your house. Using renewable energy includes generating energy that produces no greenhouses gas emissions from fossil and reduces type of air pollution.
For example you can use solar energy panels, wind turbines, solar ovens, hydro power, solar water heating, solar air conditioning and tesla powerwall all in your house.
A good organization is called “Green-e-energy” and if that isn’t possible for you, take a look at your electricity bill, many unititles now list other ways to support renewable sources on their monthly statements and websites.
Everyone should use renewable energy in their house because it will help reduce air pollution, produce no greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and greenhouse are mainly the big thing that causes Global Climate change. So if everyone would use renewable energy in their house we would produce no greenhouse gas.
