So what happened to the Dave Clark 5?
why are they less-well remembered from the Beatels?
The Dave Clark Five owned their own masters, they weren’t obliged to go along with just any company who wanted to release their music on CD. They just were wait to biggest pay-off they could get. The band would not realized that by keeping the records out of the stores for nearly twenty years, they diminished their value. The fact that the records did not get exposed in other media like movies, TV shows, and commercials led them to dissipated. Therefore much of the band’s great music faded from memory.

Let’s listen to the band’s big hits:

If the band’s records were getting more media exposure do you think we would have remembered the Dave Clark 5 as much as we remember the Beatles?

In my opinion definitely yes!

As we know The Dave Clark Five were considered serious rivals to the Beatles, the main different between the bands is the fact that the songs of the Beatles had much more exposed to the media and therefore assimilated into our memory well in contrast to the songs of The Dave Clark Five that were not exposed becuse of long waiting for the most lucrative opportunity.
