The Amazing Side of the Meadow

The morning sun painted the sky bright colors of orange and yellow.
2
The sweet little ladybug who was laying under a silky leaf began to wink, and finally opened one eye greeting the sun with a hearty smile.
4
“Oh, marvelous sun what joy you bring the world, pouring light on all the creatures and creations.
What a beautiful green meadow surrounds me. Oh, how fortunate I am to be a ladybug!
Now I can go find some food.”
6
The sweet little ladybug took a nibble from the silky leaf but after a short while turned her back and flew away to find a more satisfying meal.
8
On the other side of the meadow sat a grumpy fly. The warm pleasant rays of the orange and yellow sun hadn’t forgotten to wake him up as well.
10
“Oh, grump!” moaned the grumpy fly, “What a lousy way to wake up in the morning. These terrible rays nearly blinding my eyes! I wish they would never come. “
12
“And I wish I never had to wake up to this lousy boring meadow with its scratchy grass and noisy neighbors.”
14
“Well, what bad luck to be a fly, I wish I were a bear, I would get to sleep most of my days.
Oh well, another useless day.”
16
Day after day the ladybug would wake up to the most beautiful of mornings in the best mood ever and feeling as fortunate as can be!
18
Not too far away, in the very same meadow, the grumpy fly would wake up to the darkest most gloomy meadow with the grumpiest mood, feeling as if all the burdens of the world were on his crumpled old wings.
20
Can this be the very same meadow??
22
“Not again…not again..not again!
Ohhhh what a miserable day!” moaned the grumpy fly.
24
“What’s wrong buddy?” approached the sweet ladybug,
“What happened?”
“What happened?!,” snapped the fly, what happens every morning!”
“What horrible thing can occur every morning?”
the ladybug asked puzzled.
“Oh, I feel so sorry…maybe I can help?”
26
“Well, if you fly up to space and turn off the light I would be dearly grateful” cried the grumpy fly with half a smile.
“The light?” asked the ladybug in astonishment, you mean the sun?? What’s wrong with the marvelous sun??”
28
“It’s blinding my eyes!” bellowed the fly.
And after thinking it over he said, “Well, maybe it’s a good thing after all because it hides the terrible meadow from my eyes.”
30
“Terrible?!” gasped the ladybug, “I have never imagined such a word can be said about this wonderful wondrous meadow!” she shouted with disbelief.
32
The fly grumbled some more while the ladybug marveled on and on…
33
Until she decided to take matters into her own hands and give the fly a very special gift.
The gift of –
OPTIMISIM
Optimism is seeing the world in a good way.
34
“Listen up Mr. Fly! You hear me loud and clear? Forget about your worries and rely upon your peer.”
36
“The blinding sun is actually a giant fairy light!”
38
“The birds chirps are a beautiful enchanting melody.”
40
“Those worn-out crumpled wings of yours reflect beautiful shapes in the moonlight!”
42
“And have you ever tasted these flowers? They taste most heavenly!”
44
“Oh, And these scratchy leaves are really swell back scratchers!” the fly chimed in.
46
The ladybug heard that and began jumping up and down in excitement. “I see you’re getting the hang of it! Now we’re talking!”
48
The fly continued discovering wonders enthusiastically but still hesitant, “And from this tall tree I can look out on to this terrib….um…b…beau…beautifu-l meado-w!!”
50
“Oh fly! I think you found an amazing treasure!”
52
“What? Me?! You want to tell me that this soggy moss is actually real gold??”
54
“No, no silly.” replied the ladybug with a chuckle. “You, you are the treasure! You are becoming an-
OPTIMIST!”
