The Tall Giraffe

Giffy the giraffe was taller than all the other giraffes in his class.

On the first day when everyone went to eat lunch in trees hall, all the other giraffes laughed at him, they said he looks funny when he eats because he’s taller than the trees!

He never wanted to eat in school again!

During recess nobody picked him to play neck-ball because they said his neck is too long so they won’t be able to play with him.

He never wanted to play in school again!

When it was finally time for class, Giffy was super excited! He studied so hard in the summer he knows the times table by heart. Just ask him what 6X7 is and he’ll answer in a second.

He wanted to sit in the first row for his favorite class.

But when he got to class everybody told him to sit in the back because he’s too tall.

He didn’t want to go to class ever again.

At the end of the day, Giffy went home and couldn’t stop crying to his mom.

He told her all that had happened that day and how he never wants to go to school ever again!

Mommy giraffe looked at her sobbing son, and told him that it is going to get better and all his classmates will see how great he really is. Then she whispered in his ears what he should do the next day to make them see it.

On the next day, Giffy went back to school with his head held high eager to try out moms tricks to make everybody see how great he is.

In class, when the teacher asked who can tell her what the whole 7 row in the times table is, Giffy was the only one to raise his hand. He proudly recited the answers and they were all correct!

After that all of the other giraffes wanted to sit next to him in class, and it wasn’t so bad to sit in the back after all…

When the bell rang for recess, he ran out of the class to get to the ball first.

When he saw everyone coming he walked across the field bouncing the ball on his head and throwing it into the net.

On that day, he was picked first to join the team when they all understood his height could help them win!

Maybe being tall is not so bad after all…

When it was time for lunch, he picked out the best and freshest leafs from the top of the trees where only he could reach and handed them out to the giraffes in his class.

As they were all eating together, the giraffes got to know Giffy and they all wanted to be his friends!

Giffa even told him that she’s glad she met him because he is such a wonderful giraffe!

Now lunch time even became fun…

When he got home, before mom could ask him how was his day at school?

He ran inside excited telling her that it worked! Her advise really worked! He has friends now and going to school isn’t so bad after all!

You see, there is a good and bad side to everything. You just need to make the best out of the things you have and enjoy said mom.
