Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez was born and grew up in Texas.She was graduated from Danny Jones Middle School.She began her career by appearing on the children’s television series Barney&Friends(2002–2004). In her teenage years, she received wider recognition for her role as Alex Russo on Disney Channel television series Wizard of Waverly Place(2007–2012).Gomez released three albums with her former band and three albums as a solo artist.She has worked with various charitable organizations and, at age 17, she became a UNICEF ambassador.

Gomez was diagnosed with lupus sometime between 2012 and early 2014. On September 14, 2017, she announced via Instagram that she had withdrawn from public events during the previous few months because she had received a kidney transpalant from actress and friend Francia Raisa. 

In 2008 Gomez was named UNICEF’s spokesperson for the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, which encouraged children to raise money on Halloween to help children around the world. She said that she was “extremely excited” to “encourage other kids to make a difference in the world”.In August 2009, a 17-year-old Gomez became the youngest UNICEF ambassador at the time. Gomez said, of her role as ambassador, that “Every day 25,000 children die from preventable causes. I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we can change that number from 25,000 to zero. I know we can achieve this because every moment, UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the lifesaving assistance needed to ensure zero becomes a reality.

Other charity work

The singer is famous with her charity activities and platforms.She participates associations like step UP Foundation(assisting young people in their professional development) and World Kindness Day(day,dedicated to adoption)she donate 500 000 dollars to Lupus Autoimmune Disease Research Agency and she is active ambassador of UNICEF from 2009.Gomez is also involved with the charity RAISE Hope For Congo,which helps raise awareness about conflict minerals and violence against Congolese women.

Selena Gomez won the award for Woman of the Year in 2017. Her speech is very emotional.

She would die because of his illness but still did not give up.She is inspiration for me.One day I want to be like her.I want to help people .
