A day in Amish life

Hi I’m Ryan and I’m Amish.

I’m 16 years old and I live in Canada but i know that other people from my community live in North America like my friend David, all my neighbors are Amish people from my community.

The Amish people originally came from Switzerland and Germany.

Today I’m going to tell you what is a day in Amish life is like.

A day in Amish life start with morning routine.

I wake up at 7 AM and i eat my simple breakfast, after that I study by myself in self- study program at home.

When I finish my study, i put on brown shoes and straw hat and go to help my dad at the farm.

My dad and I go to the farm with horse and cart because we dont believe in technology or use of cars.

When we get to the farm we start to collect vegetables and fruits like carrots, cucumbers, tomatos and sometimes even strawberry (depends on the season) to eat at home.

When my dad and i get home, we give the food that we collected to my mom and she cook dinner for all the family.

After dinner i go to Tom my friend and we talk about life and our religion.

We talk about that we are both going to be baptized in a few months.

We are going to be baptized because we choose to believe in the Amish way of life.

After all that day i went back home and go to sleep.
