I have never met Mr. Harold Grinspoon. But if I met him I am sure I would look up to him. First of all, he is very tall. And second of all, he has done some very good things. I always look up to people who do good things.

Mr. Grinspoon started the PJ library. The library, together will local communities give away 40,000 books each month to young children all over North America. That is incredible! Over five million books thus far.
The books reflect Jewish values and traditions.

PJ Library is looking for authors and illustrators who write about Jewish themes or books that highlight values that are related to Judaism. You can read more about it here.

Here is some advice for aspiring authors. If you’re writing a story about a spinning top who had a terrible headache, I suggest you make it a dreidel.
And if you wrote a story about an elephant with stomach problems, you might want to name it Antiochus.

PJ library will probably not publish your story about two children that leave bacon bits along their path so they can find their way back home. On the other hand, if they were leaving pieces of chocolate-coated matzo farfel, they might consider it. And of course if the witch’s candy house is kosher, that can sweeten the deal.

If you have a manuscript that you would like to submit (as a Word document or pdf), then you can e-mail them at [email protected]. Let me know if your book gets published. I’ll write a review and post it on Ourboox!
