What is an hurricane?

 

A tropical cyclone is a rapidly rotating storm system characterized by a low-pressure center, a closed low level atmospheric circulation, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain or squalls. Depending on its location and strength, a tropical cyclone is referred to by different names, including hurricane  tropical storm, cyclonic storm, tropical depression, and simply cyclone

The hurricane is very dangerous. He can cause a very hard damage for anything passing through him. The hurricane gradual by how much kilometers per hour or miles per hour the winds of the hurricane reached to. Hurricanes usually get named because at the past scientists was struggling how to identify hurricanes.Until well into the 20th century, newspapers and forecasters in the United States devised names for storms that referenced their time period. Hurricanes also usually get women names. Storm names weren’t always so equally divided by gender.

Hurricane Allen

 

The first hurricane we gonna talk about is the Allen hurricane. The Allen hurricane was in 1980 an hitted in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Texas, Haiti, Cayman Islands, Yucatan Peninsula, Hispaniola, Lesser Antilles, Windward Islands, Lizard Islands. In the hurricane 269 peoples got killed. The hurricane made a lot of damage. he made a damage of 1.57 billion dollars back then(2k dollars now).A lot of building got destroyed in the hurricane.

what to do if a hurricane hit?

 

1.Locate a safe room or the safest areas of your home or for each hurricane hazard. The safest areas may not actually be your home, but within your community.

2.Discuss the type of hazards that could affect your family and know your home’s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding, and wind.

3.Stock non-perishable food supplies, bottled water, a first-aid kit, a battery-powered radio, flashlights and extra batteries in air-tight containers. Use our hurricane grocery list to ensure you have everything you need.
