Nancy Wake

Information about Nancy Wake:

Nancy was born in August 30th 1912 In New Zealand.

Her religion is unknown but it is known that her family was poor.

Nancy went to a school for girls, and at the age of 16, after her father left the family’ she tun away from home and began to work as a nurse.

In 1940 nancy went to the military recruiting office to be a nurse for the Allied Forces in World War II.

Apart from being a nurse, Wake helped soldiers return to Britain by forged ID cards and helped soldiers return to Britain and bribing guards with huge sums of cash.

Wake transformed her role into a high-level officer trained in espionage and sabotage that led attacks on Nazi stations- which made Germany put a five million Franc reward out for her capture.

people started to call her “The White Mouse” because whenever Germany seemed to have her cornered, she would somehow escape.
