My name is Sarah. I was accepted into SUNY Cortland during the spring of my senior year of high school. I attended the school that fall of 2016 and am currently in my senior year here.
My major is Early Childhood and Childhood Education. I will be certified to teach birth through sixth grade. I would like to teach either first, second, or third grade. In the fall of 2020 I will be student teaching and I am hoping I can do this at home.
I have an on campus job at one of the dining halls in the student life center which is called Bistro. I work on Tuesday’s 5-8 and Wednesday’s 2-4. I serve burgers at grill and vegetarian foods at in-balance!
I am on Cortland Dance Company, which is a club team on campus. We put on a recital at the end of the school year in April. I am in five dances so far this year. The style of dance I am in is Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, and tap. The dances are either non-cut or cut. So depending on what dance you want to do you may need to try out for them.
I am in the Education club on campus. This is a good club to have on my resume. The club itself is fun and I learn a lot from the speakers we have. It meets every other Wednesday and to be considered an active member you need to attend all meetings and go to at least two events.
I have been on the Dean’s list every semester that I have been here at SUNY Cortland. I was on the President’s list for one semester and I am been working very hard ever since to try and get on it again. To be on the President’s list you need to get all A’s in your classes for that semester.
