Kukuriku – Wake up Call

Do you know how people knew the time to wake up before modern times and technology?

Yes, the rooster call all around the village woke up everybody, “wake up to pray, to work, to study, to play Tai-chi”.

Read the following story as we don’t wish to see our mother nature so sick that we are hopeless to help her before it is too late.

In a far away place, in a beautiful valley lived a young shepherd boy with his mother and the farm animals.

One cow

One horse

Two goats

Three chickens and…

One rooster with a big beautiful red crest on top of his head.

Every morning, to the wake up call of the rooster, the young boy woke up to work.

He was a hard working boy and took care of all the animals, helping his mother with many of the farm duties.

He was milking the cow and the goats.

He was plowing the yard together with the horse.

Collecting new eggs laid by the chickens.

The boy loved his animal friends and he loved his mother very much.

One day his mother got very sick.

He wished to save her but he didn’t know how to read and he didn’t know the formal way to pray.

The only thing he knew was how to talk to his animal friends.

He went outside to the yard.

He closed his eyes and concentrated, than he lifted his voice and cried laud “Kukuriku” as he directed his heart to Heaven.

Seeing him, the farm animals have shown him the way toward a plant to heal his mother.

“I love you mother!”  said the boy to his mother, happy to see her recovered from her illness.
