Amish is the name of an evangelical Christian community living in North America. Its residents are scattered in 22 states in the United States and rope Ontario returned to Canada . The Amish are known as people who maintain a simple lifestyle, traditional dress and avoidance of modern technology.
What is their origin?
The origin of the Amish is found in Germany and Switzerland, Until the 17th century the Amish were from the Mennonites.
The Amish were discriminated against and persecuted both by the religious establishment and by the political establishment in Switzerland and Germany. Many emigrated to Alsace and Pfalz, where discrimination was less severe, and so during the 18th century they emigrated to the United States and settled in Pennsylvania, from there to others States in North America.
